Taking place 13-21 May 2017, there is a sense of play about this year’s AWE: Street Lab will be putting performers on the pavements, Sophie Clist is turning Exeter Cathedral into a playable instrument, and Juneau Projects will be offering a platform for the ‘Makes of the Multiverse’ to sell their wares in a purpose-built pavilion on the quay.
This year’s up-and-coming young creatives are from Exeter’s Ellen Tinkham College. Catch them at their own exhibition in Exeter Cathedral’s Chapter House, participating in the Library commission, or popping up after dark as subject of a street-art projection. We’re honoured to include Peter Randall-Page, who’ll be bringing gravItas and insight with a talk at RAMM on his recent work, titled ‘Paper Stone, Bronze’. And the new kid on the block is Cedar Lewisohn with his exhibition at Exeter Phoenix that brings a new reading to some of the museum’s cultural treasures.
There is a great range of opportunities to buy into the world of art this year including the AWEsome Art Fair open all week, the Art Market on Sunday 14th May and the 60/60 project.
