INEXETER VISITS: RSPCA Little Valley Animal Shelter
Our Charity of the Month is RSPCA Little Valley Animal Shelter with shops on South Street, Sidwell Street and Cowick Street. The RSPCA Little Valley Animal Shelter shop has a huge range of quality second-hand clothing, books, toys, games, small electricals and quirky vintage pieces just waiting to be discovered.
InExeter paid a visit to the South Street shop to find out more about this important charity that supports the work of local RSPCA inspectors by caring for and rehoming 1000 of the neediest animals from the local area every year.
Store manager, Joe Currey said; “I very much enjoy being part of this much needed charity. We have 16 volunteers, most of them have served five years or more in this store. I am a big fan of zero waste initiatives which can be difficult when running a charity shop, but we find a way. We use a clothing recycling company based in North Devon so anything that’s not good enough for the shop floor doesn’t go to landfill.”
Ways in which you can help the charity are plentiful but becoming a friend of the charity, volunteering, sponsoring a kennel and even organising your own events are just some of the ways in which you can support the Little Valley Animal Shelter.
