Job Description: Event and Project Manager
Reporting to: BID Manager
Contract: Fixed term to 31 March 2020 (9-month contract).
Location: Exeter

InExeter is looking for an Event and Project Manager to join their team. Based in Exeter, this is an exciting new role for an experienced and confident event manager to join a busy team and make a real contribution to the vibrancy of the city centre.

InExeter Ltd is the business improvement district for Exeter city centre, representing and supporting over 600 business. Our mandate is to deliver projects, services, schemes and programmes to drive footfall, promote the city, support business, save businesses money and ensure a better-connected business community.

The Event and Project Manager will play a vital role in delivering a series of high-profile events in the city centre over the next 9 months including markets, festivals and the Christmas celebrations. You will work in a proactively from day one delivering and managing events in Exeter.

Event and Project Manager key duties:

▪ Help to create, develop and deliver a programme of exciting and new events, festivals and markets within budget.
▪ Manage the full cycle of events and workshops end to end from pre-event planning, onsite management, and post-event evaluation.
▪ Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
▪ Manage supplier relationships.
▪ Event management planning.
▪ Build the positive reputation of InExeter.
▪ Work positively with our member businesses to ensure events have tangible benefit back to business.
▪ Deliver training courses and workshops for our member businesses.
▪ Manage events within budgets.
▪ Support the InExeter team. Event and Project Manager experience / skills required:
▪ Proven experience of creating, delivering and managing a programme of events from end to end, in city or town centre environments.
▪ Experience of managing multiple stakeholder projects simultaneously.
▪ A proactive and confident self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
▪ Experience managing events from end-to-end.
▪ High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
▪ Meticulously organised.
▪ Excellent people skills, customer service and ability to communicate at a senior level and with business members.
▪ Work well under pressure.
▪ Establish trust and a good rapport with businesses.
▪ Events Management degree or relevant experience.
▪ Knowledge of Exeter (desirable)

Terms:
▪ This role is offered on a flexible basis with part-time options available.
▪ Weekend working hours and late evening working will be required.
▪ InExeter are committed to the principle of equal opportunities in employment.

Job Description: Business Engagement Project Officer
Reporting to: BID Manager
Contract: Fixed term to 31 March 2020 (with contract extension on successful renewal of InExeter)
Location: Exeter

InExeter Ltd is the business improvement district for Exeter city centre, representing and supporting over 600 business. Our mandate is to deliver projects, services, schemes and programmes to drive footfall, promote the city, support business, save businesses money and ensure a better-connected business community.

As a business engagement project officer, you will thrive in a busy role which focusses on positive engagement with our member businesses, actioning projects, taking a proactive approach to business requests and ensuring our stakeholders are aware and up to date with InExeter activity. You will play a key role in the successful ballot of the BID in October 2019. Above all you will ensure our businesses are aware of the projects being delivered and are engaged and connected with the BID. This is an exciting role which will see you support and help businesses from day one.

Key responsibilities:
▪ Business engagement to support the successful ballot of InExeter Ltd.
▪ Undertake business visits across the BID area, promoting the work of the BID and deal with issues raised by the businesses and follow these through to a satisfactory conclusion.
▪ Strengthen stakeholder connections and grow relationships with local partners.
▪ Ensure businesses have full information about and sign up to projects and services offered and encourage business to participate in campaigns and programmes.
▪ Communicate effectively business news and information back to the InExeter team.
▪ Produce regular reports on business member visits, actions and key areas of note.
▪ Update the BID database with business information and provide updates as team meetings.
▪ Ensure the positive reputation of InExeter Ltd.
Additional Responsibilities:
▪ Assist with BID events.
▪ Seek out stories, copy and content for BID newsletters, PR and social media from business members.
▪ Update the www.inexeter.com website with features, events and activities.
▪ Register businesses on training and development courses and for photography sessions.
▪ Log and follow up cleansing and cleaning reports.
▪ Distribute literature on behalf of the BID to businesses and members of the public.
▪ Support the delivery of InExeter projects and services.
▪ Report proactively to the InExeter management team.

Requirements of the Position: The right candidate will demonstrate an ability to manage multiple tasks and projects ensuring that agreed actions are taken forward, with the ability to work with multiple partners to get things done.
