Northernhay Gardens

After a host of fantastic sell out screenings at last year’s event, we’ll be returning to Northernhay Gardens with a whole week of cinematic magic under the stars.

This year come with us to visit parallel universes, worlds of monsters, the glitz and glam of Hollywood and the New Zealand outback in a series of summer-perfect films echoing the popular programme of films on offer at Studio 74, which brings the best independent, contemporary and world cinema to Exeter.

Make sure you get down to the park early to listen to summery tunes, relax with a drink and soak up the vibes before the films starts!

Why are you wearing that stupid bunny suit?
Why are you wearing that stupid man suit?

October 1988 and a small town is about to witness the end of the world.

In a magnificently bizarre hybrid of suburban paranoia and apocalyptic teenage angst, a young Jake Gyllenhall portrays brilliant but troubled teen Donnie Darko as his life unravels.

A Stranger Things meets Twin Peaks style masterpiece with a perfect 80s soundtrack, time travel, and a giant bunny rabbit named Frank… There’s a reason this film revels in cult glory.

‘An astounding masterpiece’

Please remember to leave your chairs at home this year, as they won’t be accepted into the park. Take a look at our seating area options to find out more.
