This event has now finished!

Visitors can watch conservator Seonaid Wood as she conserves one of RAMM’s largest paintings, Lucy Kemp-Welch’s In Sight – Lord Dundonald’s Dash on Ladysmith, for exhibition later in the year. Volunteers will be on hand to explain conservation techniques and processes.
The Siege of Ladysmith was one of the most famous incidents of the Boer War (1899-1902). This 1901 work was painted from Lord Dundonald’s personal account of the event showing Capt Birdwood, Winston Churchill, Lord Dundonald, Lieut. Cleeves and troopers.
