The Guildhall Shopping Centre and Queen St Dining are excited to announce the launch of The Guildhall Alpine Christmas Market from the 31st of October 2020 until the 23rd of December 2020.
This safe, outdoor Christmas Market will see 8 very exciting traders move in for the festive period. They will be in our Alpine Village against St Pancreas Church as well as in Market Square and open daily from 11am to 5pm with late night opening from the 19th of November until 9pm.
“We have decided to open our Christmas Market at the end of October this year because it helps spread out the festive season, reducing congestion and allows people who are getting their early Christmas shopping in to also enjoy the festive market experience.”
“It also allows the traders, who have had many revenue opportunities disappear because of covid19, a longer season to sell their products, and bring a smile to as many people’s faces as possible!”
– Nikki Fairclough, Marketing Manager
Some of our great traders include a local Devonshire fudge maker, wooden christmas decorations and home décor, christmas wreaths, chocolate kisses, handmade wool clothing and roasted nuts and confectionary, in addition to our great Street Food traders who will also be on site 7 days a week.
Christmas lights will be up and on from the 14th of November and Late-night shopping starts on the 19th of November and continues every Thursday till 9pm until the 17th of December.
We also have some exciting visits from The Grinch, Christmas Nutkins, Bouncing Snowmen, The Salvation Army Band, Granny Turismo Chrismo as well as many other local musicians who will be spreading Christmas Cheer through the festive period.
In addition to the above, we will be turning the old Coffee Pot unit into a Christmas Workshop space and will be launching our workshop schedule very soon with exceptionally talented local crafters and artists who will be sharing their great skills in a safe, socially distant space!
