Winners of the 2016 Royal Over-Seas League Strings/Keyboard Ensemble Prize, Consone Quartet is dedicated to exploring and recreating the sound-worlds of the Classical and early Romantic string quartet repertoire on period instruments. Currently in their third year of the Emerging European Ensembles Scheme, the group has performed at various festivals including the Buxton, Brighton and York Early Music Festivals, the Ambronay Festival in France and Ghislieri Musica in Pavia, Italy. Past performances have included venues such as the Wigmore Hall and the Queen’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace. In 2016 the group was selected for the Brighton Early Music Live! Scheme and they returned to BREMF in October 2017 to present a lunchtime programme themed around the origins of the string quartet.

Grade 5+ musicians can join members of the Consone Quartet in a workshop for violinists, violists, cellists – 5 to 6pm, £10 This is final concert in the celebratory concert series 2018.
Now in its seventh year, this established concert series, hosted in the Victorian splendour of RAMM, forms part of the museum’s 150th celebration programme. Hawksmoor Investment Management are sponsoring these events which raise funds for the Royal Albert Memorial Museum Development Trust.
