INTRODUCTION TO CINEMATOGRAPHY
This practical hands-on one day course will help you become comfortable with operating professional film cameras. Alongside informative discussion and theory, you will learn how to focus, expose and frame footage.
Areas covered will include, but are not limited to:
Basic camera menus and settings
Using a tripod
White Balancing
Focusing
Manual Aperture
Framing and shot size composition
Whether your output is commercials, promotional videos, short film or even feature film, this course will give you the confidence to go out and start filming.

TUTOR BIOGRAPHY
Born in Wales, Ross Gill moved to Devon at the age of five. With a love of the outdoors, people and human stories. From a young age he quickly developed a passion for moving image and storytelling. Practicing darkroom photography and studying Film & Video in College he went to study Media Practice at the University of the West of England.
He has since worked freelance in Film, Shorts & Features variously as a DOP, Camera Operator & Assistant. With several shorts winning festival awards. His work can be found on his website here >>.
He has experience working on digital SLR cameras, ALEXA, Sony FS5/FS7, and Canon C100/C300. Also with Timelapse photography with DSLRs.
Ross also started the production company Fresh Ground Films in 2017 with a focus on Commercial and Educational content where he is the Director and primary Filmmaker.
