Pioneering archaeologist, National Geographic Explorer and TV presenter Dr Jeff Rose delves into RAMM’s migration theme by exploring one of humankind’s earliest adventures out of Africa.
Investigating human origins in the Arabian Peninsula since 2000, Dr Rose has spent years looking for evidence of Afro-Arabian links and his team has made a series of landmark archaeological and genetic discoveries in the Sultanate of Oman that rewrite the earliest chapters in the history of our species.
His findings have featured in documentary series for the BBC, PBS, and National Geographic; he has presented and contributed to numerous TV programmes, academic journals and popular magazines, and is passionate about making archaeology relevant and accessible to the public.
In 2012, he was given the lifetime award of National Geographic Emerging Explorer in recognition of his pioneering fieldwork and enthusiasm for communicating this research to a wider audience.
