Andrew Brewis is preparing to be almost live in your living room, with his new YouTube concert, Keeping The Lights On, recorded in front of a small but enthusiastic live audience this autumn. For his third ‘lockdown’ jazz concert, Andrew is celebrating the darkened playhouses of the West End and Broadway with a tribute to the legends of musical theatre, past and present.
This is a chance to see and hear Andrew perform the classic Broadway songbook in a distinctly British style that he’s honed over 30 years and four continents. And from the best seats in the house, too — your house.
So, put on your favourite slippers, grab the rustliest bag of sweets you like and have your evening out – in! Just fire up YouTube on your favourite Smart TV, tablet or computer and let Andrew transport you to the West End.
Keeping the Lights On is brought to you in support of The Cygnet Theatre, Exeter. It will be available to stream from 7pm on Friday 9th until 10pm on Sunday 11th October live from the website. ‘Admission’ is free, but this year has been hard on both performing artists and the venues they call home. You can do your bit towards keeping the lights on by making a donation, which will be shared between me and Cygnet. We both thank you in advance for your support.
