Book, Music and Lyrics by Lerner and Loewe
Exeter Musical Society present the classic musical, My Fair Lady, originally performed on the Broadway stage in 1956 and based on George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion, with book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe.
It’s the story of Eliza Dolittle, a Cockney flower girl, and Henry Higgins, a linguistics professor who is determined to transform her into his idea of an elegant, society lady. But who is transforming whom in this lively musical tale of different social worlds and aspirations?
The show is full of classic show tunes, including I could have danced all night, Get me to the church on time and On the street where you live. We can promise you a lavish and colourful production that with a little bit of luck will have you humming all the way home.
