Nightjar Walk on Dartmoor - with the RSPB and RAMM

Outdoor Leisure

Join the Dartmoor Moorland Bird Project Advisor Fiona Freshney, Natural England’s Reserves Manager for the Dartmoor National Nature Reserves Albert Knott and RAMM Collections Officer Holly Morgenroth on an evening Nightjar walk on Dartmoor.

You will meet at the Lower car-park Trendlebere Down (SX784793) and start your evening exploring the landscape before heading out in search of the crepuscular Nightjar. Enjoy learning about these elusive birds from Fiona. Albert will talk about how the management of the heathland benefits Nightjars and Holly will discuss the relevance of them to RAMM’s bird collection.

Please bring a torch and wear footwear with a good tread, as well as clothing appropriate for the weather conditions. Binoculars would also be beneficial if you have them, as well as something to sit on as there may be some time spent sitting still and listening.

Please note this event is weather dependent. RAMM will contact you in advance if the forecast means the event cannot go ahead.
