Elaine M Goodwin uses the mosaic materials of ancient Byzantium, Greece and Rome to create works of light. A student of Exeter College of Art and Design, the internationally-acclaimed artist and author moved her studio from Exeter to Burgundy in 2016. Friends of RAMM and the South West Academy welcome Elaine back to Exeter for the 2019 Drecki Lecture at the start of ‘Journeying to Light’, a major retrospective at RAMM.
Mosaic is rarely used and seen as a medium for self-expression and Elaine’s journey in seeking out its mysteries has been a long one. It has been her sustaining passion for forty years, a journey she shares in the talk.
