From Robert Eggers, the visionary filmmaker behind modern horror masterpiece The Witch, comes a masculine and superstitious tale of two lighthouse keepers on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s who are faced with solitude. Domestic tensions rise and fall and claustrophobia sets in as the pair start to lose their sanity and become threatened by their worst nightmares.

Shot in shimmering 35mm black and white The Lighthouse is brilliant, original and distinctive. Eggers continues to prove himself one of contemporary cinema’s most audacious and innovative filmmakers – finding ways entirely of his own of terrifying his audiences.

Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe boast extraordinary performances mastering lost dialects with ease as they compete for the best insult to hurl at each other.

‘Just like the lighthouse beam, this is dazzling and dangerous’
