In 2018, the year that marked the 100th anniversary since some women got the vote in the UK, and when #MeToo shook the world, we have brought together artists, writers, politicians, comedians, activists and more for the 2nd annual WOW Exeter at RAMM, Exeter Phoenix and Exeter Library.
WOW is a celebration of the achievements of women and girls and looks at the obstacles that stop them from achieving their potential. Talks, workshops, panel discussions, music and more, it is a festival for women and anyone who knows a woman.
Born at Southbank centre in 2010, WOW had its first sell-out festival in Exeter in 2017 which included beat-boxing, comedy workshops, panel talks, speed mentoring and early morning yoga. From Karachi to Beijing to Melbourne to Hull, since its inception, WOW has become a global network, and Exeter is well and truly part of the movement.
Join us for a weekend of workshops that range from practical skills like ‘how to change a tyre’ to dancing. There will be plenty of healthy debate, talks, music, activism, mentoring, pop-ups and performance when WOW comes to Exeter for its second year on the 13th and 14th of October.
