Christmas Lights Switch On
The Christmas countdown officially begins in Princesshay Square on November 16. From 4-7pm the city will be treated to a festive programme of entertainment from local artists and performers for visitors to enjoy. This popular ceremony will get the whole family into the festive spirit and start your celebrations with a bang!
Late Night Shopping
Late night shopping evenings in Princesshay will commence on November 16 and continue each Thursday until Christmas Day. Shops will stay open until 9pm for visitors to Christmas shop and soak up the festive atmosphere.
The Princesshay Polar Bears
Go along to Princesshay from November 16 to meet the adorable Hope & Clarence, Princesshay’s very own giant light-up polar bears.
Jaw-dropping Street Shows: Arco & Spark!
The first of two shows is Arco, a spectacular fifteen minute display of acrobatics performed from a 12m high inflated arch by talented team. Show times are at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm on Thursday 30 November in Princesshay Square.
The second performance is Spark!, a mesmerising thirty minute performance that combines high impact drumming with kaleidoscopic lighting. Prepare yourselves for three separate shows at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm on Thursday 7th December starting in Princesshay Square.
CHSW Charity Car Raffle
Princesshay’s Charity of the Year, Children’s Hospice South West, are hosting a Charity Car Raffle throughout December, and the winning tickets will be drawn on 23rd December for the brand new Toyota C-HR. Tickets are £2 and can be bought from the volunteers located between Debenhams and Reiss in Princesshay.
Charity Christmas Tree Festival
Princesshay’s Roman Walk will feature a special Charity Christmas Tree Festival, officially opened by the Lord Mayor on Friday 17th November at 5pm. The festival will include thirty-five trees decorated by various local charities and will stay in place until Christmas Eve.
