Whether you know a running stitch from a slip stitch, or don’t have the foggiest how to thread a needle but have made it your 2019 goal to be a craft hero – Bunyip Craft is the hotspot for you.
The independent craft shop has been established for 17 years in Exeter, and after a short break it is now back in the city centre! Take a walk down Exeter’s indie heaven, The West Quarter, to discover Bunyip Craft at 133 Fore Street.
The delightful shop stocks an array of trend-led, hand-picked crafting supplies, specialising in beads, buttons and jewellery making supplies, alongside haberdashery, fabrics, ribbon, kits and embroidery and cross-stitch tools. Whatever is the latest crafting craze on Pinterest and Instagram, you’ll be sure to find the supplies in Bunyip.
Mattie, Bunyip Craft’s owner, alongside her two sewing-expert team members, also run many workshops each month. Coming up in July are “How to Make Jewellery” and “Bookbinding” workshops. The shop space also holds Creative Kids craft sessions and Bunyip Craft Club. Both monthly, Creative Kids runs organised activities and the Craft Club is an opportunity for creatives to be part of a community and work together on their personal craft projects in an inspiring environment. All of these can be booked online here, or you can call the team on 01392 437377 for more information. Bunyip Craft also has an open diary for workshops. Simply select a crafting skill that takes your fancy from their list and choose a date and time that suits you – you could learn to make a pair of earrings or have a go at hand embroidery! They can teach you one to one or to an entire group – perfect for children’s parties, hen dos and team building sessions.
So, flex your crafting muscles and step-down Fore Street’s hill to see what exciting, can’t leave without it products are instore at Bunyip Craft.
Bunyip Craft is open Tuesday – Saturday, 10am – 5pm.
