Step away from Exeter’s main high street and you will come across the gorgeous delight that is Erin Cox Jewellery.
The namesake shop and studio of fine jewellery maker Erin Cox has been tucked away in Castle Street for 8 years now. Born in Exeter, Erin went on to study fine jewellery at London Guildhall University before returning to Devon, the county that has always inspired her exquisite designs.
Beautifully crafted rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings, sit alongside her sub-brand; the Molten Wedding Ring Company, as pieces of artwork in the retail space. With any piece from the Erin Cox collection you can see how it effortlessly captures Devon’s organic, rugged moorlands. Circles, bubbles and curves, she never deals with straight edges or corners. Erin’s jewellery is made to be worn, looked at and enjoyed. In keeping with her design ethos, Erin also truly believes in sourcing all of her metals and stones as ethically as possible, and in 2016 she was awarded her first Fair Trade Certification.
To further her repertoire and extend her sustainable credentials Erin also remodels jewellery: a process whereby she cuts and melts down client’s old pieces and reworks them into fresh designs.
Alongside her team of two, all pieces are made in the studio or in Erin’s workshop at home. Castle Street specialises in selling the gold and platinum jewellery, whereas silverware is sold in sister store Georgie & Flo in Gandy Street.
If you are searching for something truly special, be it for an occasion or a “just because” moment, make sure to find your way to Erin Cox and say hello to the team and the beautiful full collection.
