#FinditinExeter with Final Frontier

Are you a comic book fanatic? Or a comic strip fresher who’s itching to get involved in this growing culture? Well, enter the world of Exeter’s Final Frontier. Here you leave real life outside and step into a realm filled with superheroes, villains and more.

For this week’s #FinditinExeter with caught up with Jim from Final Frontier to learn all about this sci-fi empire.

Final Frontier is a comic book and memorabilia store located on Paris Street in Exeter’s city centre. The first shop opened in Plymouth in 2004, branching out into Exeter six years ago and settling into their current residence in December 2018. Jim has worked in the Exeter branch since day one and is the friendly face you’ll see in store each day.

Final Frontier stocks a wide array of classic American comics, from the well-known Marvel and DC series to more underground independent titles, alongside graphic novels, action figures and themed t-shirts. If you are new to the scene, Jim’s top picks include Star Wars, Deadpool, Stranger Things, Iron Man, Batman: White Knight, Harley Quinn and Fallen Angels; a brand new all-female series from X-Men. Jim is on hand to dish out advice and recommend the perfect comics for you, so head in store and see what you’re missing.

Comic culture is filled with its own traditions. Every Wednesday, worldwide, comic book stores reveal the week’s new releases, and Final Frontier is no different. With new issues and titles coming in weekly, the shop makes it easy to follow favourite stories by offering every customer a pull list. A pull list is a means of nominating the comics that you would like Jim to reserve for you each week, so you’ll never miss out on an issue – perfect!

Now that you’ve been briefed on all things Final Frontier, don’t miss the following two events organised by the team:

• Free Comic Book Day, 2nd May; a worldwide event on the first Saturday of May each year. Head to Final Frontier to grab yourself a free comic, created specifically for the occasion.
