#FindItInExeter with Sacred Grounds

Opened in 2018, Sacred Grounds has truly made its mark on Exeter. For our very first #FindItInExeter of 2019 we caught up with the plant-based brunch café, to find out how combining their love of plants, food, coffee and community under one sacred roof proved a recipe for success.

Nestled in McCoy’s Arcade, just off of Fore Street, the creative minds behind Sacred Grounds; Nathan, Hayley and Becca have come full circle from their humble beginnings. Growing up loving the Arcade as teenagers for its artisan shops and traders, Sacred Ground’s sister company No Guts No Glory also began in McCoy’s Arcade before establishing itself on Fore Street. Therefore, it felt only natural to return.

Sacred Grounds is a welcoming space where individuals are encouraged to spend sacred time; whether that’s catching up with a pal, hiding away behind a book, studying on the bench at the front with your course mates, or cosying up with a blanket alongside your family and four legged friends in the outdoor space under the atrium. There’s an area for everyone in this beautifully designed space, however loud or quiet you wish to be.

Sacred Grounds offers fresh, locally produced, seasonal food, created by their team of chefs who produce amazing combinations of plant-based sweet and savoury delights, alongside an inspiring selection of drinks. The brunch spot’s seasonal menus are based on two key dishes; waffles and Smørbrød. These are incredibly tasty plates of food that arrive in front of you as works of art and aren’t to be missed. In 2019 Sacred Grounds will also host lifestyle workshops, music events and kitchen take overs– it is a great venue for all creative and inspiring events.

Now is also the perfect time to visit Sacred Grounds and enjoy a selection of plant-based food in a beautiful place, because the team will be kick starting 2019 with Veganuary. Everyday this month Sacred Grounds will be doing something special to share why they are so excited about plant-based food in store and through their Instagram page.

So, whether you lead a plant-based lifestyle already, or have simply caught on to the buzz surrounding Veganuary, step away from the high street and make sure your next foodie visit is to Sacred Grounds to taste something truly unique.
