Freshers Week in Exeter

You’ve collected your welcome pack, unpacked your room, met your flat mates and figured out where you need to head to for your very first lecture. What next Fresher? Get out, have fun and explore your new city!

To kick off Freshers Week 2019, along with your official University events, Exeter is hosting seven huge nights that cannot be missed.

The Terrace

Head to The Terrace’s Club Lounge on Tuesday 17th September for Exeter Fresher’s Flex UV Launch Party, a night of hip hop, urban, R&B, grime and garage hits. Students will find a line-up of legendary DJs, spinning the biggest urban tunes of the last 20 years on the first floor of this exclusive, stylish club. Exeter’s original LGBT venue, Vaults on Gandy Street, will be hosting The Movement UK’s Freshers 2019 on Tuesday 17th September. Ready to welcome you into their world of weird and wonderful, where everything is a little topsy-turvy. Expect crazy fire breathers, bonkers stilt walkers, confetti cannons, lasers, indoor fireworks, UV face-painting and much more. Fever & Boutique Nightclub

Fever & Boutique Nightclub is the latest addition to Exeter’s clubbing scene and makes for one lively student venue. Head to this destination on Sunday 15th September where from 9pm till 3am it will be playing host to the Exeter Freshers’ UV House Party. Expect confetti canons, smoke machines, UV booths, unbelievable DJs and magnificent giveaways to ensure you kick-off your Exeter Fresher’s week in style. On the night, Fever & Boutique’s two zones will be providing a soundtrack of tunes that will guarantee to get you on the dancefloor. Timepiece Nightclub & Wine Bar

This legendary venue in Little Castle Street has hosted ultimate nights outs for generations of students in Exeter. As you will see, Sunday 15th September is the night to head into the city because also on this date Timepiece is hosting The VK Freshtival from 9pm till 3am. After a long weekend of moving in, party people can let their hair down at TP. The illustrious ‘Sax Man’ Chris Sharp will be gracing the venue with his presence straight from Ibiza, alongside a live band, 3 floors of the freshest house, hip-hop, bangers and ballads and freebies galore. Eat the Bird

Sidwell Street’s newest addition Eat the Bird will be giving away FREE burgers and beer on Thursday 19th September from 5pm to the first 150 students that walk through their doors. Whether you love chicken or follow a plant-based diet and crave some naughty fried goodness, this is an event that can’t be missed! If you can’t make this date, fear not, Eat the Bird will be offering 20% student discount throughout all of September as well.

Exeter Phoenix

Get in touch with your wild-side and unleash your inner beast at Exeter Phoenix’s immersive animal kingdom. This sell-out night is back with a roar and is the perfect way to celebrate the end of Freshers Week in the wildest way possible. On Friday 20th September, see this Gandy Street multi-artform venue transformed into a zoo, alongside a strict animals-only dress code, animal face painting, a £100 prize for the best dressed and 1000s of freshers releasing their inner beasts.
