Calling all comedy lovers, we have a fantastic chance for you to see some of the finest acts that will brace the stage at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe, right here in Exeter! Over 4 days from 11th July, Exeter Phoenix will host ‘First Chance Fringe’, and here are some of the acts you can expect to see there:
Ed Gamble: Stampede – 11th July
Previously seen on Russel Howard’s Good News and Mock the Week, Gamble’s Stampede show will certainly not fail to fill the room with laughter with confused opinions and guesswork. The Scotsman reported: ‘Gamble’s humour darts down unexpected avenues paved with elegant turns of phrase.’
Mark Cooper-Jones: Geographically Speaking – 12th July
A show filled with interesting facts about the world, Mark Cooper-Jones used to be a geography teacher and his show provides a knowledgeable hour where he is unknowingly hilarious. His frustration on other people’s laughs on a topic he is so passionate about takes the show to another level of comedy.
Kieran Boyd: Egg – 12th July
Chatting about how weird we all are, Kieran Boyd’s upbeat nature and enthusiasm is paired with a sense on femininity creates a brilliant comedy show with a real relatable edge. Described as ‘like a friend telling you a particularly funny story… Marvellous.’
Gareth Richards: The Halo Effect – 14th July
Another man to be seen on Russel Howard’s Good News, The Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Newcomer nominee has a certain something about him when he hits the stage. A fantastic solo performer, people often comment that he is ‘gorgeously understated’, creating a comedy show like no other.
