Spooktacular events, scary costumes and scrumptious treats in Exeter for Halloween

Whether you are dressing up and going out, trick-or-treating or staying in to celebrate at home, we have put together the ultimate guide to what’s on in Exeter this weekend and where to find all the supplies you might need for Halloween.

What’s on

There are plenty of events to get involved with to celebrate Halloween in Exeter.

For something family-friendly head to the Underground Passages for a Witches & Wizards Tour, or if you’re feeling brave (and the kids are over 14), book a Gory Stories tour to find out all about Exeter’s dark history as you explore the passages after-dark.

Exeter Cathedral is hosting a Night Time Family Tour on Thursday. Taking you on a tour of the Cathedral you will hear all about the history of the cathedral, including some spooky stories on the way round.

We are lucky enough to have lots of great bars and clubs in Exeter, so it comes as no surprise that they are all hosting some fantastic spooktacular events over the weekend. Timepiece, Rosies Exeter and The Monkey Suit are all hosting the traditional Halloween nights out full of cobwebs and scary characters. But if gore isn’t really your thing try The Moonlight Masquerade Halloween Ball at The Terrace Exeter or The Mexican Night of the Dead Ball at Exeter Phoenix.

Costumes & Decorations

Pick up those last minute costumes at Fantasy World Exeter on Fore St or Halloween HQ on the High Street. Both have a huge range of costumes for both adults and children, as well as all the props you need to complete your outfit.

If you are in need of decorations try Tiger in Princesshay and Wilko in the Guildhall Shopping Centre. From bunting to window stickers you are sure to find something to turn your home into a haunted mansion.

Food & Drink

Coffee shops and cafes across Exeter have got Halloween-themed goodies to eat and drink now in store.

The eagerly-awaited Pumpkin Spice Latte is back at Starbucks, Costa has added a Toffee Apple Hot Chocolate to their menu and Coffee#1 has introduced ‘Spookily Scrumptious’ drinks.

If you have a sweet tooth head to Warrens Bakery at the top of South Street and try a Gingerbread Muffin or pop in to Shakeaway in the Harlequins Shopping Centre for a limited edition Halloween Shake.

With Halloween only a few days away make sure to pick up those costumes, book your tickets and get ready for a very happy Halloween in the city centre.
