How to support local businesses during the Coronavirus outbreak

With non-essential shops and eateries now able to reopen alongside essential services, Exeter’s brilliant businesses need your support more than ever. Many of the businesses are coming up with innovative ways to continue to safely operate, including home deliveries, adapted opening hours and increased health and safety procedures. When visiting a store, please adhere to social distancing guidelines and remember that from Friday 24th July it will be mandatory to wear a face covering in shops (unless you are exempted).

Here’s how you can help

Food order delivery or take away
Lots of Exeter eateries are partners of Deliveroo, Uber Eats or Just Eat who are now offering contact-free deliveries.

Many additional independent businesses are now offering food deliveries, either through partners or through setting up their own services.

Think local
Many independent businesses have adapted their services and shops to ensure a COVID safe experience for customers and visitors, our directory is up to date with all independents that are located in the city centre. Business have missed you and are welcoming you back safely, and some businesses are offering online purchasing and home delivery or reserved collection to minimise your time in store, and alternative opening hours.

Please contact the store you wish to use to find out their current processes.

InExeter Gift Card
Another option to support independents in Exeter is the InExeter Gift Card. Accepted in over 80 businesses in the city centre, the card is available to buy online and are valid for 12 months from purchase so can be spent at a later date.
The card maybe the perfect gift to lift someone’s spirits at this time.
