How to support local businesses during the Coronavirus outbreak

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement encouraging social distancing to help mitigate the coronavirus outbreak, Exeter’s brilliant businesses need your support more than ever. Many of the businesses are coming up with innovative ways to continue to operate, including home deliveries, adapted opening hours and increased health and safety procedures.

Here’s how you can help

Food order delivery or take away
Lots of Exeter eateries are partners of Deliveroo, Uber Eats or Just Eat who are now offering contact-free deliveries.
Many additional independent businesses are now offering food deliveries, either through partners or through setting up their own services, please click here for more information

Think local
Many independent businesses will be adapting their services during this uncertain time, our directory is up to date with all independents that are located in the city centre. Whilst we do not want to encourage shoppers to visit stores unless safe to do so we recognise that all businesses big or small need support. Again, some businesses are offering online purchasing and home delivery or reserved collection to minimise your time in store, and alternative opening hours.

Click here for a list of the businesses who are working to keep operating at the moment.

Please contact the store you wish to use to find out their current processes.

InExeter Gift Card
Another option to support independents in Exeter is the InExeter Gift Card. Accepted in over 80 businesses in the city centre, the card is available to buy online and are valid for 12 months from purchase so can be spent at a later date.
The card maybe the perfect gift to lift someone’s spirits at this time.

Social Media
InExeter will be using its Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts as a platform to share what local Exeter businesses are doing and how you can support them, give them a follow or share the posts. Every little helps.
