InExeter 2020-2025

InExeter will come to the end of its current 5 year term, 2015-2020 on 31 March 2020.

InExeter are seeking business support for a second five year term to run 1 April 2020 – 31 March 2025. There will be a ballot all businesses falling within the InExeter area (extended) commencing Thursday 10 October and closing 17:00 on Thursday 7 November 2019 (a 28 day period).

The postal vote ballot is run independently by Electoral Reform Services (on behalf of Exeter City Council as Ballot Holder).

Our goal is to work in partnership with you and ensure all our projects, services and schemes are fully informed by our business community.

A snapshot of our current projects and services include:

  • Encourage and facilitate communication and connections between businesses
  • Independents advisory group which has invested in a printed guide to independents, a gift card, lighting and signage and an independents festival
  •  Free recycling of electrical items and batteries
  •  Free food waste collection
  • 7-day street cleaning service, reactive to business need
  • Free marketing and PR for your business (unlimited across print and social media)
  • Free photoshoot for your business
  • City decorations such as bunting, Chinese red lanterns and artwork panels
  • Hanging baskets and planters
  • Installation of the Christmas lights and production of the city’s Christmas lights switch on event
  • Printed Guide to Christmas which is supported by city partners
  • City wide Marketing Stakeholder Group to share campaigns, dates and information
  • £12,000 annual grant to community events and activities
  • Subsidised stalls for independent traders at Cathedral Christmas market and Exeter festivals
  • 5 footfall cameras across the city tracking data
  • InExeter team support
  • Support local area events such as Fore Street Flea and Gandy Street events
  • Free support with reducing your business running costs
  • Free accredited training and development courses.

Following engagement with our member businesses a proposed summary business plan has been drafted for comment.

A survey on business crime can still be completed
In accordance with BID legislation, a letter of intent to submit a BID proposal for balloting purposes was sent to the Secretary of State on 29 April 2019.
