BUS TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS FOR EXETER CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH ON (17 NOVEMBER)
- If you’re travelling in to the city from outside Exeter please use the Red and Blue Park & Ride services
- Additional connections to Park & Ride sites will be available on 4 and 9/9A services
- High Street closed between 6pm and 8pm on Thursday 17th for Christmas Lights Switch on event
Stagecoach South West has confirmed details of travel arrangements for the evening of the Exeter Christmas lights switch on (17 November)
The city centre will be busier than ever as visitors come to see the unveiling of the new lighting display by members of the emergency services who tackled the recent fire on Cathedral Green. The event is expected to finish by 8pm and the bus operator has advised customers to allow plenty of time for travel.
Park & Ride
For customers travelling from outside of the city, both the Red (Honiton Road) and Blue (Sowton) Park & Ride sites will be open until midnight. In addition, Stagecoach will be running extra evening journeys on the Honiton Road (Red) Park & Ride every Thursday from 17 November until Christmas. These will leave Paris Street at 2110, 2140 and 2210.
Honiton Road is also accessible by using service 4/4A. This leaves up to every half hour with evening departures from bus station to Honiton Road at 1910, 1940, 2010, 2040, 2110 and 2310.
Sowton Park & Ride can also be reached by the operator’s 9/9A service. This also leaves up to every half hour with evening departures from the bus station to Sowton at 1905, 1935, 2035, 2135, 2235 and 2335.
Matford (Green) Park & Ride will close at the normal time of 1930 with the last service back from the city centre leaving South Street at 1845.
All city buses will be on diversion during the High Street closure (approx.6-8pm). Customers can catch their buses from the following locations:
