The Restaurants Bringing New Flavours to Exeter

We love our food in Exeter, and over the past few months, there have been some fantastic new additions to the range of restaurants in the city centre, offering flavours from afar.

Red Panda – Gandy Street

Red Panda is bringing the fresh flavours of Asian street food – chilli, ginger, garlic, and soy – to Gandy Street. This family-run restaurant offers wholesome food with locally-sourced ingredients, ranging from traditional Japanese meals to the new generation of Vietnamese cuisine. Whether you’re looking for mouth-watering pork served in a crispy baguette or a vegan rice dish full of fresh flavours, Red Panda is the place to go.

Opa Taverna – South Street

Welcome to the only traditional Greek taverna in the South West, where authentic Greek food and wine meets a vibrant atmosphere. Arti Hazhaj and Alex Bersha, joint owners of Opa, work their magic to offer a rich cultural experience of Greece within the familiarity of Exeter.

Pho – Queen Street

If you’d love to delve into the rich flavours of Vietnamese cuisine, look no further. Pho offers fresh and healthy Vietnamese street food in a beautiful setting, with the option of al-fresco dining in their great outdoor space. Alternatively, you can utilise their Pho To Go service to enjoy their nourishing meals at your desk or in the comfort of your own home.

Arthur’s Deli Café – Guildhall Shopping Centre

Give a warm West Country welcome to Arthurs Deli Café – the newest independent to join our foodie scene! This family-run business offers hearty homemade food, such as their signature spicy beef and lamb meatball burger made with local meats and local veg. In fact, 90% of their produce is locally sourced. We recommend dining out on their beautiful terrace amongst the buzz of the town.

Coming up…

A suave new independent café is due to open on Sidwell Street next month, replacing the Healthy Pulses shop which closed in 2017. Ebdons Refreshments will use local suppliers to create sweet and savoury homemade goods, ranging from charcuterie to cake. There will also be a selection of wines, beers and craft ales.
