Built in the 14th & 15th centuries, Exeter’s Underground Passages offer a glimpse into the city’s fascinating history. Built to bring a fresh supply of water into the city, these passages run right underneath Princesshay shopping centre and you can take a guided tour to explore them yourselves! It’s an exciting trip for children and a fascinating experience for adults alike, right on the city centre’s doorstep.

During school holidays, advance booking is essential!

Tucked away in the corner of Cathedral Green you’ll find the most authentic Moroccan dining experience in the city, Al-Farid. Take a seat and admire the tapestries and lanterns while enjoying a selection of hot and cold mezze dishes. If you can’t get to Marrakech then this fantastic Exeter indie will make you feel slightly closer.

The Exploding Bakery has opened its doors to a café on Queen Street where you can sit and watch the team  bake delicious cakes. It’s a cosy and exclusive space that offers the mesmerising experience of watching the master bakers at work! Make sure you grab a cup of coffee, something yummy off their menu, and of course, a piece of cake. You won’t be disappointed!

You may have visited the Cathedral, walked past it on numerous occasions, or even sat and eaten your lunch under its stature, but have you ever climbed to the roof to admire the spectacular views? You can get a behind-the-scenes tour into the roof void high above the Nave, into the south tower, through spaces in the north tower and onto the roof to enjoy the very best views of Exeter. Taking place on selected Tuesdays and Saturdays until September, make sure you book this truly ‘one of a kind’ experience!
